This year at Go Play

Brisbane's annual, free community gaming convention is returning to the State Library of Queensland for a whole weekend of fun in a new space on Level 1.

Go Play is a celebration of all kinds of tabletop gaming, from games set in well-known roleplay worlds to boardgames to indie RPGs. It's a weekend built for players of every experience level – from seasoned dice rollers to total newbies – where some of Brisbane’s best GMs volunteer to bring unique worlds and adventures to life.

We'd love you to join us for a weekend of roleplaying games, boardgames and more – completely free of charge – Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1.

Go Play is returning to a new location at The State Library of Queensland this October / November – join us on Level 1.

Once again, we’ll be bringing all the fun and welcoming, upbeat energy of Go Play into The State Library of Queensland, but this year, in a fresh new space.

And – we say this every year because it's always proved true – we know that Go Play 2026 is going to be the best one yet!

So what is go play?

Go Play is a free tabletop roleplaying (TTRPG) convention held in Brisbane each year. Go Play offers RPG sessions – from D&D to Vampire, Powered by the Apocalypse to indie RPGs and more – all in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. We also offer boardgame sessions from local game designers.

Go Play has been back at the State Library of Queensland (since the pandemic took us offline for a year or two) for several years now, however this year, instead of being at The Edge, we'll be in a bright new space on Level 1 of the State Library.

Come along and join the fun, creative and collaborative gaming, no matter your level of experience.

Go Play needs you! We're looking for friendly GMs to run sessions at Go Play 2019 (September 14 & 15). All systems are welcome.

What we’re looking for in our GMs:

A sense of fun
An even temper and supportive nature
A great story idea
Enough familiarity with your game system to run the session smoothly on the day.

We highly recommend making sure you book yourself in as a player for some sessions too. Take a break and let another of our talented GMs inspire you.
